10/31/09 - Golf

The DePaul golf team posted a win and a loss in two matches on the second day of The Match Play in Southern Pines, N.C. The Match Play features 11 of the 12 BIG EAST golf programs in a tournament-style format. DePaul was seeded third and received a first-round bye on Friday afternoon. The Blue Demons defeated USF in the second round before falling to Louisville in the semifinals.  (full story)

The Blue Demons join 10 other BIG EAST programs for The Match Play at Pine Needles GC in Southern Pines, N.C. The tournament-style event features 11 of the 12 BIG EAST programs with DePaul as the third seed and waiting to face either Seton Hall or USF in the second round.  (full story)

Greg Doherty finished in a tie for fifth while the team placed eighth at the 25th annual Georgetown Intercollegiate. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes following inclement weather conditions on Monday.  (full story)

A weather-shortened first day of action at the Georgetown Intercollegiate saw the DePaul golf team finish in a tie for fifth place. The competitors were only able to play one round as inclement weather and morning frost in the Washington, D.C. area shortened the first day to just 18 holes.  (full story)
