While the city of Chicago enjoyed a sunny and mild November day, the men's and women's cross country teams battled through scorching heat and humidity at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship at the Missouri State Cross Country Facility. Despite the difficult conditions, both Blue Demon squads persevered and took home 17th place.

DePaul Cross Country Set to Race Against the Best of the Midwest

The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams travel to Springfield, Mo. on Sat., Nov. 14 for the 2009 NCAA Midwest Regional Championship. Saturday's meet at the Missouri State Cross Country Facility opens with a men's 10K at noon (CST), before the women take to the course for a 6K trek.

DePaul Women's Cross Country Concludes Conference Championship

The DePaul women's cross country squad walked away from the 2009 BIG EAST Conference Championship in 11th place, up two spots from a year ago. Mary Cate Quiett was the top finisher for the Blue Demons for the fifth time this season, while Toni Salvatore recorded a career-best effort in the women's 6K race at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course.

Blue Demons Break into Top-10 at the BIG EAST Conference Championships

Matthew Graham inked his name in the DePaul record books as the first BIG EAST All-Conference honoree in cross country after placing 14th today at the 2009 BIG EAST Championships held at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. As a team, the men's squad recorded its best finished since entering the league in 2005, breaking into the top-10 for the first time and claiming ninth place.

Halloween might be just around the corner, but the DePaul men's and women's cross country teams have more pressing matters on their minds than costumes and candy: the 2009 BIG EAST Conference Championships. The Blue Demons return to the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wis. on Saturday, Oct. 31 after testing the terrain three weeks ago at the Lucian Rosa Invitational.
