CHICAGO – Selma Salkovic of the No. 31 DePaul women’s tennis team earns BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week for her 6-0 performance over the last weekend.  She is the second student-athlete of the season to take home the league’s weekly award after Anna Redecsi was named last week’s honoree.

The sophomore went undefeated in both singles and doubles play last weekend as the Blue Demons issued three 7-0 shutouts.  She and Redecsi, currently ranked No. 64 in the nation, own a 17-1 record as a pair, including a team-high winning streak of 10.  Their only loss occurred on Feb. 7 when they narrowly dropped a 9-7 decision to Texas’ then-No. 9 ranked pair of Marija Milic and Vanja Corovic.

In singles action, she notched two wins in the No. 2 match and one victory in the No. 3 slot.  En route to her three straight-set wins, Salkovic gave up just eight games total the entire weekend

Her singles record currently stands at 18-11 while she leads the team with 28 doubles match wins.

Andrew Carter of Louisville earned the conference award for the men.

The team returns to action on March 25, when they travel to Texas to face Southern Methodist.
