Number Crunch: Looking Back at 2011-12

It's not breakfast, it's fun with numbers... it's Number Crunch!!!!

Number Crunch will take a look inside the numbers at DePaul from time to time.

Check out the numbers from 2011-12:

307: Student-athletes named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in the Autumn and Winter Quarters.

202: Student-athletes named to DePaul's Dean's List in the Autumn and Winter Quarters.

42: Student-Athletes that graduated in June.

32: Student-athletes that registered a 4.0 GPA in the Autumn and Winter Quarters.

13 & 8: Thirteen teams participated at a BIG EAST Championship and eight teams represented DePaul in an NCAA Championship event.

13: Number of student-athletes from six different sports named either All-Conference performers, to an All-Freshman Team or a BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team.

11 & 17: Eleven student-athletes from eight different sports were named a BIG EAST Conference Athlete of the Week a total of 17 times.

7: An all-time high of number of programs were recognized with the NCAA APR Public Recognition Award for having multi-year Academic Performance Rate (APR) scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports.

3: Deanna Ortiz from women's basketball, Tim Nedow from outdoor track and field and Jasmin Kling from women's tennis earned one of the BIG EAST Conference's major postseason awards. Nedow was recognized twice by earning the most outstanding field athlete at both the indoor and outdoor championships.

2: Both Doug Bruno and Deanna Ortiz represent DePaul and their countries at the 2012 London Olympics. Coach Bruno will serve as an assistant coach for the United States women's basketball team and Ortiz and Puerto Rico is making a bid to qualify and play in London this summer.

2: Women's basketball's Anna Martin and softball's Kirsten Verdun distinguished themselves as All-Americans.

45: Athletics contests that were televised during the 2011-12 academic year with teams making appearances on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN3, BIG EAST NETWORK, CBS Sports Network and Lakeshore Public TV.

83: Athletics contests that were streamed live on BlueTube at

450,000: Nearly 450,000 people attended a DePaul athletics competition.
