Golf Blog: Moritz Ackerhans

Dear Blue Demon Fans,

It has been awhile since you last heard from us, so I hope this entry makes up for all the waiting...

As one of our most busy seasons, the fall schedule is always a challenging way to start off the year. School started on September 13, which was about a week later than usual and gave us a week less to prepare for our tournaments. Even though this fall was the most busy fall season I have experienced at DePaul, our four freshman did a great job in adjusting to their new environment.

Saturday morning we departed Lincoln Park campus for our last tournament this year, which will be hosted by Georgetown University at Four Streams Golf Club. The tournament is going to start off on Monday with 36-holes and close with an 18-hole day on Tuesday. The practice round will be held today, Sunday.

You are probably asking yourself, "Why did they leave on Saturday?"

Well, sometimes we get to see more than just the airport, the hotel, and the golf club. The trip to Georgetown is traditionally the only tournament during the year that allows for some sightseeing (besides our annual spring break trip to Florida, of course).

Washington couldn't be a better destination for touring. Besides the Capitol, Lincoln and Washington Memorial and the White House, we also took a tour inside the National Air and Space Museum. I highly recommend the interactive simulator for those of you who haven't yet had the pleasure of flying a jet. Also, the 3D Hubble show was amazing!

Anyway, I could go on with this forever but I have to stop writing at some point.

Have a great week and GO BLUE!
