Join DePaul Athletics In Tsunami Relief Efforts

CHICAGO - On Friday, Feb. 11, the DePaul Athletics Captain’s Council begins the first of three shoe collections for the “Share Your Soles” charity.  The collection takes place at the women’s basketball game where you can see the 15th-ranked Blue Demons take on C-USA opponent Houston at 7 p.m. at the DePaul Athletic Center.

“Share Your Soles” is an established charity based in Palos, Ill., that is aiding in the help of those victimized by the recent tsunami.  They are collecting any pairs of shoes that are still in good enough shape to be worn by others.  After you drop off the shoes this Friday, they will be cleaned and delivered to the “Share Your Soles” drop-off site in Palos Heights where they will then be sent to those children and adults in desperate need of them.

Following the Feb. 11th game, the Captain’s Council will have two more collections on Sunday, Feb. 13th with women’s game against TCU and Tuesday, Feb. 22nd when the men’s team takes on South Florida at the Allstate Arena.

Thank you for your support in helping others.  The DePaul Captain’s Council, comprised of captains of each varsity sport and other student-athlete leaders, conducts service projects each quarter.  To learn more visit  "Share Your Soles" at www.shareyoursoles.org.
