Important Message For DePaul Students
In an effort to assure proper fan behavior as well as maintain a safe and memorable experience, the DePaul Athletics Department and the BIG EAST Conference would like to provide you with these friendly reminders.

Proper sportsmanship among student-athletes, coaches, fans and students is not only important but expected. Comments made which could be perceived as derogatory or slanderous towards student-athletes, officials, coaches as well as your fellow fans will not be tolerated and could be cause for removal from the competition site.

In addition, storming the court after an exciting victory has become dangerous for students, fans, student-athletes, coaches and staff. DePaul University has worked closely with Allstate Arena personnel to ensure everything is being done to protect the safety of student-athletes, officials, coaches and students.  The practice of storming the court will not be tolerated as it is a serious safety issue for all spectators and staff in the arena. Fans who fail to comply with this policy will face disciplinary action.

The DePaul University Athletics Department asks that you comply with this BIG EAST Conference regulation as it is meant to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators.

Thank you for your support and Go Blue Demons!

DE PAUL UNIVERSITY STUDENT ATHLETIC FEE
- FAQ -

Why was the fee created?
The primary goal is to strengthen the sense of community among all DePaul students. At many universities, athletics is a cornerstone of student spirit, bringing together students from all programs and levels of study.

In the recent past, many DePaul students have avidly followed the Blue Demons and taken advantage of relatively low ticket prices ($5 for men’s basketball). Other students felt they should not spend dollars on “entertainment,” not realizing that they were also missing an important part of the university experience.

Every student is part of the DePaul community. Group activities foster that bond and help students network and forge friendships across academic programs and degree levels. The intent of the fee is to encourage as many students as possible to attend games and spirit-building activities.

What does the fee cover?
You will be able to attend all DePaul Athletics events for free. You will be able to buy additional tickets at a deeply discounted rate. You will be able to park for $5 at Allstate Arena (non-students pay $11). In addition, you will be able to attend Blue Demon pep rallies, pre-game activities and other related events, many of which feature free food and beverages, for no cost. All students will receive a Blue Demon T-shirt. Additional giveaways and activities will be announced throughout the year. See the complete list of benefits at the end of this FAQ.

How much is the fee?
The fee is $25 per quarter for the fall, winter and spring quarter for all enrolled students.

How does that compare to other universities?
DePaul’s athletic fee is the lowest in the BIG EAST Conference. Fee structures vary, but students at other universities pay between $120 and $400 a year for the same privileges.

How will the fee be used?
The fee will enable Athletics to reserve thousands of seats for students at every DePaul sporting event.

The fee also will make possible more pep rallies and other spirit-building activities for students at all campuses. It covers the cost of food and beverages, T-shirts and spirit gear bearing DePaul Blue Demon logos.

What sports does the fee cover?
The fee covers entrance to all home DePaul Athletics events, including NCAA men’s and women’s basketball, women’s softball, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis and any other athletic events where a fee is charged. DePaul also participates in cross country, track and field, and men’s golf.

DePaul teams have reached the NCAA and post-season playoffs in these sports 14 times in the past four years, including an NCAA berth for the women’s basketball and softball teams this year. Women’s softball has appeared in 14 NCAA tournaments, reaching the College World Series four times. Women's basketball has made eight straight NCAA Tournament appearances and 15 overall berths.

Who approved the fee?
The fee was approved by the Board of Trustees with support from Student Government Association and leaders of many of the other large student organizations on campus.

I still have questions. Who can I call?
If you have more questions about the athletic fee, please contact Katie Ramsey of the Athletic Department at cramsey1@depaul.edu.
