DePaul Athletics Adds Three New Staff Members
CHICAGO – DePaul has added three new members of its athletic department into newly created positions it was announced today by Blue Demon Athletic Director Jean Lenti Ponsetto.
Alicia Powers Named Sports Information Assistant
CHICAGO -- DePaul has named Alicia Powers the new Sports Information Assistant it was announced today by Blue Demon Athletic Director Jean Lenti Ponsetto.
Powers has spent the past two years as the Blue Demons’ Sports Information Graduate Assistant working as the main contact for DePaul’s volleyball and softball programs along with assisting at the 2005 NCAA Men’s Basketball Chicago Regional. In her new position, she will serve as the main contact for the DePaul volleyball, softball, cross country and track and field programs.
Prior to joining DePaul, Powers was a student at Illinois where she spent a year working in the Fighting Illini Sports Information department and handled such projects as the Scholar-Athlete Banquet program and assisted with event management for the Big Ten Championships in Indoor Track & Field, women’s gymnastics and women’s tennis along with the NCAA Men’s Regional Tennis Championships.
Powers also worked for the Illinois Rural Recreation Development Project, the Kankakee Valley Park District and the National Laboratory for Tourism and eCommerce during her collegiate days.

Jarett Mason Named Assistant Director of Sports Medicine
CHICAGO -- DePaul has named Jarett Mason Assistant Director of Sports Medicine it was announced today by Blue Demon Athletic Director Jean Lenti Ponsetto.
Mason has spent two years at DePaul working as both a graduate assistant and assistant director in the Sports Medicine department. As the assistant director he spent the 2003-04 season working primarily with the women’s basketball team and handled the day-to-day operations as the insurance coordinator. Mason has also worked with the Blue Demon men’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s golf teams.

Steve Meints Named Assistant Director of Athletic Business & Financial Affairs
CHICAGO -- DePaul has named Steve Meints Assistant Director of Athletic Business and Financial Affairs it was announced today by Blue Demon Athletic Director Jean Lenti Ponsetto.
Meints spent the past year working in the Athletic Department’s Business & Financial Affairs office as a student assistant. Meints also participated as the Director of DePaul’s student spirit group the Blue Crew during the 2003-04 athletic year and has served as the student representative on DePaul’s Athletic Board.
Meints earned an accounting degree from DePaul this past June.
