DePaulBlueDemons.com Takes a New Look
July 11, 2012
CHICAGO – The official website of the DePaul athletics department – www.depaulbluedemons.com – was relaunched today with a redesign and upgrade of its online experience. DePaul and its online partner CBSSports.com collaborated on the new design. New to the site is a features section that will be handled by DePaul assistant director of athletics communications Bob Sakamoto. The veteran Chicago sportswriter will give fans of the Blue Demons a closer look at the stories behind the student-athletes, alums and coaches at DePaul. Feature stories available at the launch of the redesign include articles on women’s tennis coach Mark Ardizzone traveling Europe, golfer Russell Budd having his mother as his summertime caddie and the volleyball program’s dedication to community service. The tabs on the front page and the home page for each sport include options for: top stories, videos, photos, calendar and features. The top stories offer the latest news while the videos tab is a quick option for the most recent highlights on each program. The photos tab takes readers to the most recent galleries and the calendar is an easy-to-read format for upcoming events. The first event of the 2012-13 season for the Blue Demons is Saturday, Aug. 11 when the women’s soccer team plays an exhibition match at Northwestern. After live streaming with video and/or audio nearly 100 events last season, DePaul's online video player – BlueTube – is scheduled to feature over 100 events in 2012-13. Additionally live feeds are available on the home page of the website for the official Twitter and Facebook accounts for DePaul athletics. To follow DePaul on Twitter, go to www.twitter.com/depaulathletics and for Facebook, go to www.facebook.com/depaulbluedemons. In addition to the redesign, DePaul will also launch an official mobile app for the iPhone, iPad and Android users this autumn. More information on the launch will be announced later this summer. |
