Inside The BIG EAST TV Show Begins A New Season



PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The new season of Inside The BIG EAST, a weekly magazine show highlighting the athletic interests of the schools in the BIG EAST Conference, begins this weekend. Televised on numerous affiliates both locally and nationally, including ESPNU and SportsNet New York, the show is widely distributed on regional sports networks across the country as well.

Episode No. 1 of the series includes a look at the 2009 football season. The show will feature insight from the league's Media Day Summer Kickoff event, a feature on the Syracuse football team and starting quarterback Greg Paulus as well as action from the first conference football game of the season between Cincinnati and Rutgers. The show also will include a segment on the nationally ranked Syracuse field hockey team which is ranked in the top-10 this year.

Throughout the course of the 24-episode season, the show will make stops at all 16 BIG EAST schools. Interviews with the league's players, coaches and administrators also will be featured prominently. Upcoming segments also will include a look at Rutgers women's basketball head coach C. Vivian Stringer as she is enshrined into the Basketball Hall of Fame and recaps of all the BIG EAST Championships. SportsNet New York will broadcast the show Fridays at 4:00 p.m., while ESPNU will televise the show nationally on Fridays at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Local RSN affiliates include Fox Sports Pittsburgh, WVFX in West Virginia, MASN (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network), Catch 47 Brighthouse in Tampa, WHAS in Louisville, Cox Sports New England in Rhode Island and Connecticut, Cox Sports in Louisiana, Time Warner Syracuse, Time Warner Buffalo-Rochester, Time Warner Wisconsin, WHME in South Bend, Ind., WCTX in Hartford/New Haven, The Comcast Network in Philadelphia, Comcast Sports Network in Chicago and CSS - Comcast Sports Southeast in the Southeastern part of the country. In addition, the New England Sports Network (NESN) will air the show beginning in October. Check your local listings for an updated programming list.

The program will be produced by Premier Media in conjunction with David Scherzer. It will be hosted by John Heffernan.
