Senior track and field standout will travel to Providence later this month to represent Blue Demon student-athletes at the annual league meetings.
CHICAGO – Tammy Burris will represent DePaul at the annual BIG EAST Student-Athlete Advisory Council meeting on September 21-22 in Providence, R.I.
Burris, a member of the women’s track and field team, served as the President of DePaul’s Captain’s Council in 2006-07.
Last year was a banner year for the senior from Lisle, Ill. as she qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships in the hammer throw and set school records in the shot put during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. She was the women’s outdoor track and field squad’s Most Outstanding Performer and won the Jean Nordberg Award for character and leadership.
