Westley and Dodd Selected to Attend NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum

CHICAGO - DePaul student-athletes Ben Westley and Samantha Dodd have been chosen to attend the 2011 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum, Nov. 3-6 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare.

The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum will engage a diverse and dynamic representation of Division I, II and III student-athletes, coaches and athletics professionals.  More than 300 student-athletes and more 100 athletics professionals are scheduled to be in attendance at the conference in Rosemont, Ill.

"Ben and Sam were chosen to attend this Leadership Forum based upon their demonstrated leadership skills and talents within the DePaul Athletics community," Blue Demon Associate Athletics Director, Kathryn Statz said.

"We are very excited for them to have a chance to be in the room with the leaders of tomorrow not only within intercollegiate athletics but also across the country in their chosen fields."  

Westley a senior on the men's golf team and vice president of DePaul's Captains' Council led DePaul in scoring during the 2010-11 season.   The Minneapolis, Minn. native was also the 2011 recipient of the Robert Adams Exemplary Golfer Award.  

Dodd is a member of DePaul's Captains' Council, was a third-team All-BIG EAST selection and led the Blue Demons with 10 doubles last season.  The junior is majoring in business and currently works in DePaul's Athletics Business office.
