CHICAGO – The DePaul men’s and women’s basketball seasons officially opened with a pair of events over the weekend starting Friday night with Blue Madness and an open practice on Saturday afternoon. The two teams begin exhibition play on Oct. 30 with a doubleheader at McGrath Arena.

Friday night at Blue Madness saw head coaches Doug Bruno and Oliver Purnell perform with Chicago’s own Bucket Boyz while each team was introduced and played in scrimmages. On Saturday, the open practice featured an inside look for fans as they were able to watch the men’s team practice followed by the women’s team.

In less than two weeks, the exhibition portion of the season opens on Oct. 30 with games for both the men's and women's basketball teams. The day starts with the DePaul volleyball team hosting Connecticut at 2 p.m. before the women's basketball team hosts Northwood University at 5 p.m. The tripleheader wraps up with the men's basketball exhibition game also against Northwood at 7 p.m.
