CHICAGO - The 2011-12 Blue Demons basketball season is here and the home opener for both the women's and men's basketball programs is Friday, Nov. 11 at McGrath-Phillips Arena. The Lincoln Park campus is sure to have an exciting atmosphere on game day and fans are encouraged to come early for a pre-game party at the DePaul Student Center.
The 18th-ranked DePaul women's basketball team kicks off the action with the annual Maggie Dixon Classic. The tournament field includes Samford, Montana and St. Mary's for actoin on Friday and Saturday. The Blue Demons take the court at 6 p.m. against Saint Mary's. The competition continues on Saturday, Nov. 12 with the consolation and championship games of the tournament at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The men's basketball team makes its season-opening debut on campus in Lincoln Park on Friday night. Taking on UT-Pan American at 8 p.m., the new-look Blue Demons look to feed off the legendary energy that only McGrath-Phillips Arena can provide.
