Assistant Director of Athletics Communications
Alicia Pope was named Assistant Director in the Athletics Communications office in July of 2005 after serving as a graduate assistant in that department from July, 2003 to June, 2005.
She handled all the communications and publicity efforts primarily for the Blue Demon softball, volleyball, cross country and track and field programs until the 2008-09 season when she began working primarily with the women's basketball, men's and women's tennis programs.
Pope was the Assistant Media Coordinator for the 2005 NCAA Men's Basketball Chicago Regional and for the 2006 NCAA Women's Basketball First & Second Rounds in suburban Rosemont. She handled communication responsibilities for the Blue Demons and also worked with the media and participating teams at the 2012 NCAA Women's Basketball First & Second Rounds in Rosemont.
Her talent in graphic design led to Pope overseeing all the graphic design projects for the DePaul Athletics Department beginning in the summer of 2013.
Before arriving in Lincoln Park, she worked in the University of Illinois Athletics Department as a student intern from January to June of 2003. Pope was a Special Project Associate for the Illinois Rural Recreation Development Project from May of 2002 until January of 2003.
Pope graduated with honors from Illinois with a Bachelor of Science degree in May of 2003. She earned a Master of Arts degree from DePaul in June of 2006.
She and her husband Matt reside on the city's North Side.
