Dave McAuliffe is in his fourth season as an Assistant Director of Sports Medicine at DePaul. McAuliffe works directly with the women's basketball program and also serves as the department's insurance coordinator.
McAuliffe comes to the Blue Demons after spending four years as an assistant athletic trainer at Oakland University, where he worked with all 18 of the Golden Grizzlies sports. He also served as the site coordinator for the NCAA drug testing program during the first and second rounds of the 2006 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament at The Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan.
Prior to joining the staff at Oakland, McAuliffe spent two years as a graduate assistant in the Stanford sports medicine department where he worked with the Cardinal women's tennis program which won an NCAA title and the women's soccer team. McAuliffe got his start in the field working as a student assistant trainer at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While with the Panthers, McAuliffe also served an internship with the training staff of the Milwaukee Bucks and provided training coverage to Nicolet High School.
A 2002 graduate of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Kinesiology, McAuliffe earned a Master's in Kinesiology from San Jose State in 2006. David and his wife, Abbie are the proud parents of a daughter, Nora. The family resides in Chicago.
