DePaul Heads Across Town for Chicagoland Championships

The Blue Demons track and field teams ready themselves for their first Chicago competition of the season.

Career Notes: Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012.

2011-12 (Senior)
Cross Country: Competed in four races for DePaul, scoring points in three of them...ran her season-best 6K time of 24:51.8 at the NCAA Midwest Regional in DeKalb, Ill.

Indoor: Placed 13th in the 3,000m run at the Badger Track Classic with a season-best time of 11:23.11...finished in 19th place at the Notre Dame Invitational.

Outdoor: Finished 11th in the 5,000m run at the DePaul Invitational...ran a season-best 5,000m time of 19:48.21 in her 20th-place finish at the Chicagoland Championships.

2010-11 (Junior)
Cross Country: Competed in five races...earned points in the NCAA Regionals with a 6K time of 24:15.24...ran a time of 19:18 in the Sam Earl Lakefront Invitational...ran a season-best 6K time of 23:41 in the Bradley Classic.

Indoor: Garnered first place at the Purdue Invitational in the 3000m run when she finished with a time of 11:51.28...collected a season-best time of 11:20.50 in the 3000m at the Notre Dame Invitational to earn 14th...also ran in the 3000m at the Badger Track Classic (11:22.38, 17th) and the Illinois Intercollegiate (11:28.34, 9th).

Outdoor: Established a career-best 5000m run time of 19:33.41, which she ran at both the ISU Duals and the Dr. Keeler Invitational...also competed in the 5000m at the Mike Poehlein Invitational (20:03.42) and the DePaul Invitational (19:55.58).

2009-10 (Sophomore)
Cross Country: Notched a season-best 5K time at the Lucian Rosa Invitational, with a 5K time of 21:23... finished the Notre Dame Invitational in a time of 21:41... raced in three competitions... raced at the DePaul Opener in a time of 17:10.

Indoor: Placed 10th in the 3,000m with a time of 11:27.09 at the Chicago Duals.

Outdoor : Recorded a season-best 1,500m time of 5:09.10 at the Dave Rankin Invitational... led the 4x400m relay team to a third-place finish at the Chicago Penultimate with a time of 4:17.18... clocked a 5:09.72 1,500m time at the Mike Poehlein Invitational... posted a 4x800m relay time of 10:02.70 at the DePaul Relays.

2008-09 (Freshman)
Cross Country: Finished among the DePaul top-five in three of the seven races... finished 13th overall at the AU Spartan Classic with a 6K time of 24:45... season-best 5K at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational with a time of 20:08.

Indoor: Placed fourth at the Chicago Duals with an 800m time of 2:27.61... ran a season-best 1,000m at the Meyo Invitational with a time of 3:07.61... logged a mile time of 5:25.23 at the Bob Eubanks Open... raced the 3,000m at the Blue and Gold Meet in a time of 11:06.62... ran the second leg of the 4x400m relay at the Bob Eubanks Open to help post a time of 4:13.33.

Outdoor : Set a personal-record 1,500m time of 5:07.50 at the Mike Poehlein Invitational... also ran the 800m in a season-best time of 2:27.60 to place in the top half of the field... anchored the 4x400m relay at the Chicagoland Championships to help record a second place time of 4:17.47... ran the 1,500m at the Bobby Lane Arlington Invitational in a time of 5:12.35.

High School: Four-time cross country state qualifier...12th place finish at state her sophomore year... three mile personal-best time of 17:21.00... cross country team placed in the top-10 at the state championships all four years of her prep career... qualified for the state meet in the 1,600m with a personal-best of 5:18.00... personal record for the 3,200m run is 11:15.00.

Personal: Daughter of Rick and Jennifer Lakie... has one younger sister, Allie... studying education
