CHAMPAIGN, Ill.- On Saturday, the DePaul track and field teams fought for in-state pride, at the Division I Intercollegiate, against six other teams including Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, Mckendree, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Western Illinois and the host school, Illinois.

In the shot put, Tim Nedow came in first and smashed the DePaul Record with a throw of 19.18m. This is the fifth straight meet that Nedow has won the shot put and the second time he has pushed forward the DePaul Record.

Matthew Graham represented the Blue Demons in the mile, for the first time this season and came in second with a time of 4:14.2. Chris Kyles set a DePaul Record, when he ran a time of 6.83 and finished in fifth in 60m.

On the women’s side, Toni Salvatore finished in fourth place and ran a time of 2:17.04. Melissa Fraser threw a career-best in the weight throw with a distance of 16.99.

Next weekend DePaul travels to South Bend, Ind., for the third time this season, to compete in the Meyo Invitational.
