Whittler Qualifies For 60-Meter Finals At Meyo Invitational

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Sophomore Tayler Whittler sprinted to the finish line of the women’s 60-meter dash in just 7.60 seconds on Friday evening at the Meyo Invitational, hosted by the University of Notre Dame.
For Whittler, her time in the 60 came in the semifinals of the event and was just .01 seconds from setting the DePaul school record, which she has already set three times this season. In addition, her time allowed her to qualify for tomorrow’s finals; she ran a time of 7.66 seconds in the prelims to send her to the semis.
The finals of the 60-meter dash is slated for Saturday at 2:20 p.m. CT.
In the women’s weight throw, Jazmyne Durrah placed seventh out of 30 competitors with a throw of 17.52 meters, her best throw of the season.
Also performing well was Chris Miedema, whose time of 1:04.71 in the 500-meter dash placed him fourth out of 15 athletes.
Over 30 schools are competing at this weekend’s Meyo Invitational, which is being held at Notre Dame for the 27th time. Fans can follow the action of the second day of competition via online live stats and live video.
