RALEIGH, N.C.– Friday, the DePaul men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the first day of the Raleigh Relays and totaled seven top-ten finishes. Alanna Kovacs led the women with two top-ten finishes and on the men’s side Tim Nedow finished in first and fifth in his events.
Nedow threw a distance of 18.14m in the shot put to take first place for the second week in a row. In the discus, Nedow threw a distance of 50.19m to finish fifth. Ryan Asta also competed in the discus; he finished in ninth with a throw of 47.42m.
Also representing the men, Eddie Anderson competed in the Long Jump and Tonderai Tomu ran in the 400m dash. Anderson finished in sixth with a jump of 6.45m. Tomu ran a time of 48.35 to finish in eighth.
On the women’s side, Kovacs competed in the shot put and in the discus. She placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 44.73 and finished in 10th in the shot put.
Lindsey Holden just missed finishing in the top ten in the 400m dash, she placed 11th with a time of 56.12.
The Blue Demons return to competition tomorrow for the final day of the Raleigh Relays.
