Terre Haute, Ind.- The DePaul men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Indiana State University Dual Meet this Saturday. Six student-athletes finished in first place in Saturday's competition.
Representing the women, Toni Salvatore, Mary Cate Quiett and Alanna Kovacs all had first place finishes. Quiett ran a time of 2:10.41 in the 800m run and Salvatore ran the 1500m in a time of 4:40.98. Kovacs finished in first place in the Javelin with a toss of 49.85m and Melissa Fraser finished in second with a distance of 45.08m. In the discus, Kovacs finished in second with a toss of 47.19m.
In the women's 400m, Lindsey Holden ran a time of 56.92 to place second and Elizabeth Jefferson placed fourth with a time 57.55.
On the men's side, Tim Nedow, Matthew Graham and Tonderai Tomu had first place finishes. Graham ran a time of 9:00.20 in the 3,000m Steeplechase. Nedow and Tomu each had first and second place finishes.
Tomu ran a time of 47.93 in the 400m dash to take first, Edin Pasalic finished in second with a time of 48.52. Tomu also competed in the 200m dash and placed second with a time of 21.87.
Nedow competed in the shot put and the discus. In the shot put Nedow place second with a toss of 18.02m and in the discus he finished in first with a distance of 52.35m.
The Blue Demons return to competition next weekend at the Stan Lyons Invitational.
