CHICAGO- The DePaul men's and women's track and field teams kick off 2011 with the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. The meet will be held at the Lambert Field house and begins with the field events at 10 a.m. fallowed by the track events at 11 a.m.

Blue and Gold Meet Recap
At the Blue and Gold Meet two women-athletes registered BIG EAST qualifying marks while seven members of the men's team qualified in nine events. Tim Nedow and Chris Kyles set school records in the shot put and 60m dash.

A Season Ago
At the 2010 Purdue Invitational the DePaul men's and women's track and field teams walked away with five BIG EAST Conference Championship qualifying marks. Mary Cate Quiett set a then career-best time in the 400m, with a time of 58.69.

New Leadership
Coach Dave Dopek takes over head coaching responsibilities for the 2010-11 season. Coach Dopek is entering his 16th season as part of the track and field staff. During his collegiate career at DePaul, Dopek earned seven individual Great Midwest Conference championships and was a two time member of the Great Midwest Conference All-Academic team. Dopek became the school's first individual or team to win an NCAA Championship when he captured the 200-meter title at the 1995 NCAA Indoor Championship.
