Track and Field Squads Head to Carthage College Invitational
CHICAGO- The DePaul men’s and women’s track and field squads prepare to compete in the second meet of the indoor season hosted by
The Blue Demons are coming off an impressive start to the indoor track and field season. At the Chicago Pentangular, the women’s team recorded three first place finishes, while the men tallied two first place spots.
Marissa Petersen grabbed the top spot in the 400 meter dash, while Marlene Key won the mile run. The women’s 4x400 meter relay team of Erica Scott, Allyson Petersen, Courtney Grand Pr and Marissa Petersen surpassed all competition as well.
On the men’s side, both Gavin Kennedy and Rob Reed earned first place finishes. Kennedy was the leader in the mile run, while Reed finished best in the weight throw.
After the Carthage College Invitational, the DePaul squads will travel to Champaign, Ill., for the Central Collegiate Indoor Championships on January 21st and 22nd.
