Men's Track and Field Takes Second at Carthage Invite
Carthage College Invitational Results KENOSHA, Wis. – The DePaul men’s track and field team placed second out of eight teams on Saturday at the third annual Carthage College Division I Invitational. Jarrod Jahnke set a new meet record in the weight throw while Rick Britton and Rashard Deleston took first place in their respective events. Jahnke’s distance of 17.40 meters (21’11”) won the weight throw competition. He outdistanced second-place finisher Miles Pomeroy of Loyola who finished with a mark of 15.19 meters (49’10”). Britton won the mile with a time of 4:19.08 while Deleston claimed first place in the long jump. He won the event with a distance of 6.68 meters (21’11”). Other top finishers for the Blue Demons included Larry Inanga, Siddiqu Muhammad, Gavin Kennedy and Kim Trieu. Inanga was second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.19 while Trieu was second in the 3000-meter run at 8:46.27. Muhammad and Kennedy finished third in the 400 and 800-meter events, respectively. Muhammad ran a time of 50.90 in the 400 and Kennedy was clocked at 2:00.20 in the 800-meter run. The 4x400-meter relay team of Mike Scafide, Muhammad, Doug Bohr and Inanga finished second with a time of 3:24.21. The team continues the indoor season next Saturday at the Stan Lyons Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. MEN'S TEAM SCORES
