CHICAGO – DePaul’s track and field team heads out to its third indoor meet of the season Saturday, competing at the Notre Dame Invitational.

Along with the host Fighting Irish, the Blue Demons will see how they measure up against athletes from Michigan State and USF.

Field events are set to begin at 10 a.m. with running events starting at noon.

Going into the week, DePaul sprinter Jordon Vaughn had the best 60-meter dash time in the BIG EAST Conference at 6.83 seconds.

“He is off to a good start, and let’s hope that mark stays up there a few more weeks,” said DePaul track and field coach Dave Dopek.

Vaughn’s time qualifies him for the BIG EAST Indoor Championships Feb. 16-17 at Geneva, Ohio. Others who have qualified on the men’s team are Tonderai Tomu (60m, 400m), Brandon Threats (200m), Mac Melto (400m), Anthony Babicz (shot put) and Adam Kovacs (weight throw).

On the women’s side, Tayler Whittler has qualified in the 200m along with Alexandra Muller (1000m), Jazmyne Durrah (shot put, weight throw) and Sarah Moss (weight throw).
