Track And Field At Central Collegiate Conference Championship



CHICAGO – The men’s track and field team will compete this weekend at the Central Collegiate Conference Championship.  Head Coach Gordon Thomson and his team are fresh off of a second place finish at the Carthage College Invite where they tallied up 127 points. 

 

Senior Jarrod Jahnke, who has consistently beat his personal best in the weight throw at each meet this season, will try to exceed last week’s throw of 16.64 meters (54’07.25”). 

 

Jamal Cornelious who placed first last weekend in the 55 meter dash will sprint in the 200-meter dash as well as the 4x400 relay with teammates Rashard Deleston, Siddiqu Muhhamad, and Larry Inanga. 

 

Inanga took first place in the 400-meter dash at the Carthage College invite last weekend.

 

The following Blue Demons are scheduled to participate this Saturday:

 

Weight throw – Jahnke, Michael Horrigan, Rob Reed

5000-meter run – Donnie Warner, Kim Trieu

Mile run – Armando Aguirre, Ben Cooke

400-meter dash – Deleston, Muhammad, Doug Bohr

800-meter run – Will Lazicki, Kai Murray, Michael Scafide

200-meter dash – Cornelious, Inanga, Tom Kacprzynski

3000-meter run – Luis Samayoa

4x400 relay – Deleston, Muhammad, Inanga, Cornelious  Alt. Bohr, Scafide

 

The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
