Blue Demon Track and Field Teams Compete at Notre Dame Invitational



CHICAGO - The Blue Demon indoor track and field season will continue this weekend at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.  The one day meet will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 29th, and take place at the Loftus Sports Center.

DePaul is coming off a challenging weekend at the Central Collegiate Championship that was filled with tough competition.  The men’s squad earned a sixth place finish overall, while the women brought home the eighth spot of the meet.

Impressive showings came from both sides, as Larry Inanga and Erin Moffett led the Blue Demon efforts. Inanga prevailed in the 400 meter dash, marking a 48.86 winning time and Moffett clocked a 10:07.09 finish in the 3000 meter run to give herself a second place finish.

Anthony Becknek and Marlene Key stole fourth place spots in the 3000 meter run, with times of 8:34.71 and 10:16.13, respectively.  The men’s 4x400 meter relay team of Kriss Arnold, Richard Fugiel, Inanga, and Justin Williams raced in 3:23.19 to contribute a third place finish.

Following the Notre Dame Invitational, DePaul will compete at the Kent State Invitational on February 5th in Kent, Ohio.
