DePaul Men Finish Strong at the Notre Dame Invitational

CHICAGO - The DePaul men’s track and field team came home from South Bend, Ind., with an impressive showing at a meet that did not feature team scoring.  Three second place finishes, two third place finishes, and two fourth place finishes kept the Blue Demons on top of the competition.  The Notre Dame Invitational featured teams from Michigan State, Loyola, Marquette, Butler, and Grand Valley to round off the seven team contest.

The Blue Demon pack was led by Larry Inanga, Dan Branca, and Rashard Deleston.  Inanga continued his dominance in the 200 meter dash, finishing the race in second place with a time of 21.79.  Branca placed second in the 500 meter run, and following a step behind was teammate Jeff Perkins in third place.  The duo crossed the line in 1:06.65 and 1:06.94, respectively.

In the field, Deleston leaped 13.31meters (43’08.00”) in the triple jump to give himself a second place finish as well.

Rounding off the races, the 4x400 meter relay team of Kriss Arnold, Inanga, Richard Fugiel, and Branca gave the DePaul men their final second place finish of the day, recording a time of 3:19.81.
