Nedow Takes Fourth Straight BIG EAST Weekly Award
Jan. 31, 2012
CHICAGO – For the fourth time this season and the fifth time in his DePaul career, senior thrower Tim Nedow has been named the BIG EAST Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week. Nedow garnered the honor after his 20.03-meter throw earned him first place at the Indiana Relays on Saturday. Nedow has swept the Male Field Athlete of the Week award so far this season as no other in-conference student-athlete has outdone his efforts. In each competition, Nedow has beaten his previous-best throw. Last week, the senior eclipsed the 20-meter mark for the first time in his throwing career when he threw for 20.01 meters at the Notre Dame Invitational. At the Indiana Relays, Nedow’s 20.03-meter distanced earned him first place as his mark was a full meter further than the next closest competitor. Although the DePaul men’s and women’s track and field squads head to Notre Dame this weekend for the Meyo Invitational, Nedow is not scheduled to compete. The Blue Demons head on the road for competition on Friday and Saturday.
