McPherson, Murray Lead Blue Demons at McCravy Memorial
Lexington, Ky.--The DePaul track and field squad completed competition this weekend at the Rod McCravy Memorial at the University of Kentucky with several top performances.
Senior Andrae McPherson posted a new season best time in the 60-meter hurdle (8.30) on his way to a fourth place finish. In the 800 meters, Kai Murray finished with a time of 1:54.78. The junior's time is tops for the Blue Demons this season.
In the field events, freshman Dan Sloan matched his indoor season best with a high jump of 6'04.00. The jump was good enough for fifth place. Senior Frank Guzman placed fourth in the shot put with his throw of 55'06.50.
On the women's side, senior Montia Gardner finished seventh in the weight throw with her throw of 51'07.15. It was her second best throw of the season. Junior Susan Stoffel finished behind Gardner with a throw of 49'07.25.
Sophomore Shelley Knight posted her second best time of the season in the 800 meters finishing with a time of 2:24.18. In the 3,000 meters, freshman Marlene Keys led the Demons with a time of 10:39.09 while senior Lynsey Psimas posted a 11:10.48.
The Blue Demons continue the indoor season this weekend in Ames, Iowa at the Iowa State Classic.
