CHICAGO- The DePaul men’s and women’s track and field team travel to South Bend, Ind. to take part in the Meyo Invitational this Friday and Saturday. The meet will be held at the Loftus Sports Center and begins Friday with field events at 4 p.m. and the track events fallow at 5 p.m.

2011 Division I Illinois Intercollegiate
At the Division I Illinois Intercollegiate, for the fifth straight meet Tim Nedow came in first and he smashed the DePaul Record with a throw of 19.18m in the shot put. Chris Kyles set a DePaul Record, when he ran a time of 6.83 in the 60m Dash. Melissa Fraser threw a career-best in the weight throw with a distance of 16.99.

2011 Notre Dame Invitational
At the Notre Dame Invitational, Lindsey Holden and Tonderai Tomu each ran BIG EAST Championship qualifying times in the 200m dash. Matthew Graham returned to competition and won his second 3,000m run of the season and Tim Nedow threw a distance of 17.58m to finish in first for the fourth straight meet.

2011 Badger Track Classic
At the Badger Track Classic, Toni Salvatore represented the Blue Demons in the 1,000m and finished in first with a time of 2:59.87. Tim Nedow walked away with his third straight victory in the shot put with a distance of 17.93m. Kelcie Daniels ran a season-best time of 1:36.99 to win the 600m run.

2011 Purdue Invitational
At the Purdue Invitational, Tim Nedow continued to perform well, and won the shot put with a distance of 17.30m. On the women’s side Toni Salvatore represented the Blue Demons in the mile and finished in first place.

2011 Blue and Gold Meet 
At the Blue and Gold Meet two women-athletes registered BIG EAST qualifying marks while seven members of the men’s team qualified in nine events. Tim Nedow and Chris Kyles set school records in the shot put and 60m dash.

New Leadership
Coach Dave Dopek takes over head coaching responsibilities for the 2010-11 season. Coach Dopek is entering his 16th season as part of the track and field staff. Dopek became the school’s first individual or team to win an NCAA Championship when he captured the 200-meter title at the 1995 NCAA Indoor Championship.
