CHICAGO - DePaul's track and field team will be heading down to Nashville, Tenn. to open up the outdoor portion of its 2012-13 season.

The Blue Demons will compete on March 22-23 at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold event. A week later, they will participate in the SIU Spring Classic in Downstate Carbondale.

Coach Dave Dopek and his student-athletes will be closer to home on April 5-6 while competing in the Chicagoland Championships at southwest suburban Romeoville.

The following weekend they travel to Macomb in the western part of the state for the April 12-13 Lee Calhoun Classic.

On April 18, DePaul will fly out to Walnut, Calif. for the three-day Mt. SAC Relays. On April 20, the Blue Demons will be participating in the NIU Huskie Open.

DePaul will take a good measure of itself the following week at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa beginning on April 25. DePaul is also scheduled to compete on April 27 at the Stan Lyons Invitational in Indianapolis.

Both the Mt. SAC Relays and the Drake Relays will prepare the Blue Demons for the BIG EAST Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 3-5 at Piscataway, N.J.

DePaul is at the Cardinal Twilight meet May 10 in Louisville, Ky.

The NCAA West Preliminary Rounds are set for May 23-25 at Austin, Texas. The track season comes to a close June 5-8 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore.
