Ryan Named Track & Field Athlete of the Week
CHICAGO - Carey Ryan has been named the Conference USA Track & Field Athlete of the Week the league announced today. Ryan, a senior from Bolingbrook, Ill., captured first place honors in the weight throw at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships on Feb. 16. He posted a new school and personal record with a throw of 68'11.25, ranking him tenth in the nation. His mark eclipsed his own school record of 67'06.25 set at the Central Collegiates earlier this season. Ryan will lead the Blue Demons at the Conference USA Indoor Championships this weekend in Bloomington, Ind.
