Endy Races to BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week
Feb. 20, 2018

CHICAGO - The BIG EAST released its weekly awards on Tuesday, naming senior Elizabeth Endy as its Track Athlete of the Week. This recognition marks Endy's first conference honors of the season.

Endy won gold in the 800-meter at the Alex Wilson Invitational, clocking a 2:08.40 finish. That mark sets a personal best for Endy by nearly a second. Currently, her time is 66th best in the nation and fifth in the conference. Additionally, Endy helped the distance medley of Jessica Sanborn, Kaitlen Crawford, and Miranda Rea take home first place in the Hoosier Hills distance medley, finishing at 12:10.96.

After an outstanding four-year soccer career at DePaul, Endy comes to the Blue Demon track and field team with many accolades. During the 2017 soccer season, Endy was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American. She served as one of the team's captain, starting in all 19 matches for the Blue Demons, accumulating the third-most minutes for DePaul with 1,778. Endy finished her career having started and played in 79 games without missing a match, placing her second all-time in starts and sixth all-time in matches played.

The Blue Demons will compete at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships on Feb. 23 and Feb. 24.
