DePaul Fine Tunes For Conference Championships
CHICAGO – The men’s track team heads to its last meet before the C-USA Indoor Championships. The Blue Demons will head to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday to fine-tune their technique.
“This weekend is just a tune-up before conference next weekend,” says Head Coach Gordon Thomson.
“It’s mostly for our throwers who rely on specific techniques that need tweaking.”
DePaul will be represented in the weight throw by Jarrod Jahnke, Michael Horrigan, and Rob Reed.
Also competing at the meet is Webster Jones who will try and beat his best distance of 6.06 meters in the long jump.
Jamal Cornelious and Eric Harlan will run the 60-meter dash this weekend. Harlan set a personal best last week at the Lewis Late Night Invitational with a time of 7.11.
DePaul’s lone hurdler, Cornelius Sams will take on the 60-meter hurdles and will try to top last week’s time of 8.21.
Tom Kacprzynski will run the 200-meter dash in an effort to prepare for next week’s championships as well.
The meet is held in the Klotsche Center Fieldhouse and begins at 5 p.m.
