Indoor Track and Field Tunes Up For C-USA Meet
Men's Results ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – In their final meet before next weekend’s Conference USA Indoor Championships, a contingent of the indoor track and field teams competed at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships at Lewis University. Rashard Deleston and Jarrod Jahnke led the men’s team by winning the long jump and weight throw events. Deleston captured the long jump title with a distance of 6.97 meters (22’10.75”) while Jahnke posted a mark of 17.83 meters (58’6”) in the weight throw. Webster Jones tied for fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.82 meters (6’0”) while Mark Kliethemermes was sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.99. On the women’s side, Lauren Henn was the top finisher with a fourth place in the 55-meter hurdles. She finished with a time of 8.75 after qualifying for the finals with a time of 8.84 in the prelims. Henn also placed 11th in the 400-meter dash and was followed in that event by Arica Smith in 13th place. Jamie Holifield was DePaul’s highest finisher in the shot put and weight throw. She took 11th in the shot put and was followed by Laurel Mazar in 19th place. DePaul travels to Houston for the C-USA Indoor meet next weekend. Events kick off on Friday morning and run through Saturday evening.
