Moffett Leads Blue Demon Pack at C-USA Championship

CHICAGO - The Blue Demons fought hard at the Conference USA Indoor Championships this past weekend, but struggled to obtain the outcome they desired.  The squad landed a 13th place finish overall, out of the 13 team field, falling just 4.5 points short of Memphis, who came in 12th place.

Success came to the team in the long distance events, where two third place finishes by Erin Moffett led DePaul.  Moffett rounded the 3000 meter run in 9:55.59 and clocked a 17:13.13 finish in the 5000 meter run.

Keeping pace with the front of the pack, Marlene Key grabbed a fifth place spot for the Blue Demons, finishing the 5000 meter run in 17.22.91.  Key also notched a 14th place finish in the 3000 meter run, with a time of 10:13.36.

To round off the top finishers, Carrie Moffett landed the eight spot in the mile run, recording a time of 5:06.42.  In the 3000 meter run, Moffett was the second DePaul finisher behind sister, Erin, with a time of 10:13.31 for 13th place.
