Jamie Holfield Takes Fourth Place in Weight Throw at Notre Dame
Senior Jamie Holifield represented the DePaul women's track and field team at Friday's Alex Wilson Invitational. DePaul's outdoor track and field season kicks off on March 23 at the Southern Illinois Opener.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Senior Jamie Holifield represented the DePaul women’s track and field team on Friday at Notre Dame’s Alex Wilson Invitational.  She finished fourth in the weight throw and was the only Blue Demon to compete at the Loftus Sports Center.

 

Holifield posted a weight throw of 16.85m.  It was the 10th time this season she notched a throw greater than 16.00m.  Tipaleli Fotu of BYU won the event with a mark of 17.78m.  None of the competing throwers exceeded the NCAA Provisional standard of 19.00m.

 

The 2006-07 indoor season saw Holifield break the DePaul weight throw record with a mark of 18.49m.  Her record breaking performance stood as the second best weight throw in the BIG EAST Conference this season.

 

The Blue Demons kick off their 2007 outdoor campaign on March 23 at the SIU Opener in Carbondale, Illinois.
