Track and Field Concludes Indoor Season at Alex Wilson Invitational

CHICAGO Claire Duck recorded a personal-best time in the mile run on Saturday as select members of the DePaul women’s track and field team competed at Notre Dame’s Alex Wilson Invitational.  Mary Cate Quiett and Stephanie Williams also ran for the Blue Demons at the Loftus Center.

Duck placed 17th in a field of 29 runners with a mile time of 4:50.11.  The DePaul senior broke through her previous personal-best time of 4:54.15 that was set at the 2007 BIG EAST Indoor Championships.  Saturday’s performance marked Duck’s second sub-five minute mile of the 2007-08 indoor season.

The women’s 200m dash saw Williams take third place with a time of 24.81.  The Blue Demon junior finishes the indoor season with five 200m times under 25.00.

Quiett represented DePaul in the women’s 800m run where she notched a time of 2:15.14.  She finished 19th in a field of 21 runners with her second-best 800m performance of the season.

The Blue Demons open their 2008 outdoor campaign on Saturday, March 29 when they compete at the Texas-Arlington Bobby Lane Invitational and the University of Chicago Invitational.
