CHICAGO, Ill. – Two weeks after the conclusion of the NCAA Indoor Championships, the DePaul track and field teams are scheduled to begin their outdoor seasons this weekend when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla., on Friday for day one of the FSU Relays.

The meet, hosted by Florida State University, is set for Friday and Saturday competition on the Mike Long Track. The meet kicks off on Friday with several field events including men’s and women’s hammer throw at 8 a.m. (CST) followed by women’s long jump and men’s and women’s javelin throw at 11 a.m. Friday’s field events conclude with men’s long jump and high jump followed by women’s pole vault and discus beginning at 3 p.m.

On the track side, events begin at noon and open with the women’s 4x100m relay which is succeeded immediately by the men’s race.  The men’s and women’s 400m begin at 2:20 p.m. while the distance races follow thereafter.

Saturday will see several sprints and races throughout the day before finishing up with the men’s and women’s 4x400m relays at 3:25 p.m.

Saturday’s field events open with a 9 a.m. men’s discus event before the remainder of field events go off beginning at noon. The Blue Demons look to fare well in the men’s and women’s shot put events at 1 p.m. as they boast one of the top throwers in the nation on the men’s side in addition to past successes on the women’s side.

The FSU Relays mark a return to action for the DePaul track and field student-athletes, including senior thrower Tim Nedow, who is coming off the NCAA Indoor Championships. Spring season is when the Blue Demons are expected to excel as they are a team more built for outdoor competition.
