Blue Demons Race into Outdoor Season at Raleigh Relays



CHICAGO - A select group of the men’s track and field squad took part in the Raleigh Relays this past weekend at North Carolina State. The two-day meet was filled with competitors from over 70 universities, including some of the top athletes in the country.

Coming off of an impressive indoor season, Gavin Kennedy took home a seventh place finish in the 1500 meter run, speeding in at 3:53.85.

In the opening meet of the outdoor season, Anthony Becknek returned to the rigorous 3000 meter steeplechase, placing 11th with a 9:27.05 finish.

Jamal Cornelious sprinted to a second place spot in his 100 meter dash heat, covering the distance in 11.16.

Continuing the outdoor season, the Blue Demons get set to take on the Notre Dame Outdoor Invitational on April 2nd in South Bend, Indiana.
