CHICAGO - In a meet that showcased some of the most talented athletes from around the world, four Blue Demons battled the competition at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California, this past weekend.
The 47th Annual Mt. SAC Relays took place on April 15-17 and hosted a number of divisions in each event that ranged from high school, community college, and university/open levels. The meet was held at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the campus of Mt. San Antonio Community College.
Each of the DePaul student-athletes competed in the university/open divisions, which included fellow Division I opponents and unattached athletes. In addition to the participants from numerous universities across the nation, countries such as, Australia, China, Jamaica, Sweden, and Venezuela, to name just a few, sent representatives as well.
After winning her first three competitions in the high jump this season, Kayla Burks continued to impress with a second place finish overall in the event. Burks neared her best of the outdoor season with a 1.67m (5'05.75") jump on Saturday.
All three Blue Demon men earned success in the Mt. SAC "Distance Carnival" on Friday afternoon, posting personal bests for the 2005 outdoor season.
