CHICAGO – DePaul is headed for a track and field tripleheader this weekend beginning with the prestigious Drake Relays on Friday in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Blue Demons are entered in a total of 10 events Friday and Saturday in what many consider the premier track and field meet in the country.

Also on Saturday, Lindsey Holden, the 5000-meter runners and the 400m hurdlers will compete in the Stan Lyons Invitational hosted by Butler in Indianapolis.

The third leg of this tri-state track endeavor will have the Blue Demon throwers taking part in the Wisconsin-Whitewater Meet on Saturday.

The creative scheduling by DePaul track and field coach Dave Dopek gives the Blue Demons maximum preparation in advance of next week’s BIG EAST Outdoor Championships.

Representing DePaul on the men’s side at the Drake Relays are Durrell McDonald in the high jump, Adam Kovacs in the javelin throw and the 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x800m and 1600 sprint medley relay teams.

The women’s team will feature Tayler Whittler in the 100-meter dash, Sarah Moss in the discus throw along with the 4x100 and 1600 sprint medley relays teams.

This is the only time this season that the Blue Demons will be simultaneously competing at three different track meets.
