Holifield Finishes 22nd at Mideast Regional

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.- School-record holder Jamie Holifield hit a mark of 51.05m in the women’s hammer throw Saturday at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships.  The junior finished 22nd in the event at the University of Tennessee’s Tom Black Track.

 

Holifield’s performance stands as her third-best throw of the season behind her DePaul record distance of 55.49m at the BIG EAST Championships on May 7, and her mark of 54.26m at the following week’s Dr. Keeler Invitational.

 

Brittany Riley of Southern Illinois won the event and broke the Mideast Regional record with a distance of 63.77m.

 

The event concludes DePaul’s 2006 outdoor season.
