CHICAGO - For the second season in a row, DePaul men's track and field standout Brad Millar was named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District team as announced by CoSIDA.  As a member of the 10-athlete team for District 5, he is eligible for the Academic All-America recognition.

Millar is on his way to a second-straight appearance in the NCAA Championships, held on June 9-12 in Eugene, Ore.  The Port Elgin, Ontario native launched a hammer throw of 63.73m at the West Preliminary round to place ninth overall and enter the championships as the No. 15 seed.  Millar's best throw of the year game at the DePaul Relays, when he unleashed the hammer a distance of 66.19m.

Earlier this season, Millar clinched his third BIG EAST title in the hammer by a margin of nearly 20 feet.  During the indoor campaign, he won his first conference title in the weight throw after placing second in both of the two seasons prior.

The 2010 NCAA National Championships take place in Eugene, Ore. on June 9-12.  The trial and final rounds of the hammer throw are slated for 6 p.m. (CDT), at Historic Hayward Field on Fri., June 11.   Teammates Alanna Kovacs and Tim Nedow join the action on the morning of June 12 in the javelin and shot put, respectively.
