Brad Millar Named to ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-District Team

CHICAGO DePaul men’s track and field standout Brad Millar was named to ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-District team as announced by CoSIDA.  He was one of 11 student-athletes selected in District 5, and as such will now appear on the Academic All-American ballot.

Millar most recently placed fourth at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship with a hammer throw of 63.16m.  By placing in the top-five, he earned his first berth in the NCAA National Championships to be held on June 10-13.  The junior out of Port Elgin, Ontario currently sits in 16th place on the national descending order list in the hammer throw with a season-best distance of 64.79m.

Off the track, Millar excels in the classroom while pursuing a degree in physical education.  He is a two-time BIG EAST All-Academic team member, and was a U.S Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic selection in 2008.

The 2009 NCAA National Championships take place in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  Qualifying rounds of the hammer throw begin on June 10 at 1 p.m. (CST), while the champion will be crowned after the final round on the 13th.
