NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Three DePaul track and field student-athletes recently earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2013-14 season.

On the men's side, Matt Babicz (3.35 GPA) and Mac Melto (3.34) were honored, while Jackie Kasal (3.89) was acknowledged for the Blue Demon women.

In addition, the DePaul women's track and field squad earned All-Academic Team distinction with its cumulative 3.43 team GPA.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; or for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds)


 

 

All-Academic Team awards are bestowed to squads who post a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
