SOMERS, Wis. - Eddie McDaniel led the way for DePaul Saturday, finishing sixth at the Lucian Rosa Invite hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside.
"The guys did well with one of the better team performances this year," said assistant cross country coach Leah Bohr as the Blue Demons finished in sixth place. Cedarville, ranked No. 3 in the USTFCCCA Division II Midwest Region, won the 15-team men's field.
"On a course with 23 hills that was more difficult than the flat course at the National Catholic Championships at Notre Dame, Eddie was just 10 seconds off his National Catholic time," Bohr continued. "Max Rodrigues scored points for the team for the first time since coming back from last year's injury."
On the women's side, Jacqueline Kasal led the Blue Demons with a 17th-place finish and Molly Shiroishi came in at No. 34. Ferris State, ranked No. 2 in the Division II Midwest Region, came in first in the 15-team field while DePaul finished in 10th.
"Jacqueline ran really well with almost the same time as the flat course at Notre Dame," Bohr said. "Molly came in second for us with a time that beat her personal best by 40 seconds.
"Overall, this meet gave us a good perspective on what we need to do these next couple of weeks."
