Cross Country Announces 2005 Schedule



2005 Cross Country Schedule

CHICAGO – DePaul cross country coach Gordon Thomson announced today the 2005 schedule for the men's and women's cross country program.  The Blue Demons are set to compete in five meets before the BIG EAST Championship and NCAA Championship.
 
DePaul opens the season at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa on Sept. 3.  The season-opener serves as a preview of the NCAA Midwest Regional with the University of Iowa serving as host in November.

The following two weekends see the cross country teams in West Lafayette, Ind., and South Bend, Ind.  Purdue is the host of the Great American Legends meet on Sept. 9 followed by the National Catholic Championship on Sept. 16 at Notre Dame.

October sees the Blue Demons in three meets culminating with the BIG EAST Championship on Oct. 28.  DePaul opens with the Sean Earl-Lakefront Invitational at Montrose Beach in Chicago on Oct. 1 before traveling to Peoria, Ill., for the Bradley Cross Country Classic on Oct. 14.

The annual BIG EAST Championship takes place on Oct. 28 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y., with St. John’s serving as the host.

On Nov. 12, the cross country teams return to Iowa City for the NCAA Midwest Regional.  The top team and individual finishers move on to the NCAA Championship in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 21.
