CHICAGO – DePaul men’s and women’s cross country has finalized its schedule for the 2013 season.

Looking to get out to a fast start, the Blue Demons will compete in the UIC Home Opener Aug. 31 at Horsetail Lake in southwest suburban Palos Heights.

They will travel up to Madison, Wis. on Sept. 6 for the Badger Opener. After a two-week break to assess their first two performances, the cross country team will run in the National Catholic Championship hosted by Notre Dame Sept. 20 in South Bend, Ind.

On Oct. 12, DePaul heads up to Kenosha, Wis. for the Lucian Rosa Invite hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside. That will also be the site of the BIG EAST Conference Cross Country Championship.

Six days later, the Blue Demons engage in their final tune-up before the conference meet at the Oct. 18 Bradley Classic in Downstate Peoria.

The BIG EAST Championship hosted by Marquette takes place Nov. 2 at Wisconsin-Parkside.

Two weeks later, DePaul will compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional at Ames, Iowa.

The men’s team will be led by senior Eddie McDaniel who won the 2012 NIU Open and was chosen BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the Week. McDaniel finished first for DePaul in all seven races and also had four Top-10 finishes in the 2012 season.

Heading up the women’s team will be junior Jackie Kasal who came in first for the Blue Demons in all seven of her races and recorded a pair of Top-20 finishes.

A deep and talented recruiting class---particularly on the women’s side---is expected to bolster the DePaul program this fall.
